A Du Page coroner`s jury ruled Tuesday that the death of a 20-year-old Addison man, who died in March after his car crashed with a squad car driven by a sheriff`s deputy, was accidential.
Daniel Brown, the deputy who was responding to a call before the March 8 accident at Lake Street and Kennedy Drive in Addison, invoked his
constitutional rights and declined to answer any questions at Tuesday`s inquest.
The family of Robert Layne, the man who died in the accident, has stated that a civil lawsuit against both Brown and the Du Page County Sheriff`s Department is being prepared.
The state`s attorney`s office has already determined that no criminal laws were broken.
