– Thornwood 10, Homewood-Flossmoor 4-Cliff Floyd (double, five RBIs), Jon Dunlop (double, one RBI) and Sam Antkiewicz (one RBI) had two hits apiece for No. 1 Thornwood`s SICA East titlists (25-2, 11-1).

– Oak Forest 4, Tinley Park 2-Winning pitcher Tim Byrdak had two hits, including a triple, and scored as No. 2 Oak Forest completed a 10-0 season in the SICA Central.

– Proviso West 12, Oak Park 2-Brian Wardell hurled a six-inning no-hitter and was 2 for 3 with two RBIs at the plate, Paul Robertson had two RBIs and Alvie Shepard was 3 for 3 with one RBI as Proviso West (18-9, 10-9) stunned No. 3 Oak Park in the West Suburban Silver.

– Sandburg 5, Oak Lawn 0-Todd Mensik (9-2) spaced three hits and struck out 13 and Joe Aikens, Mark Barone and Dino DeCicco had two hits each to lift No. 4 Sandburg`s SICA North champions (27-5, 12-0).

– Lyons Township 2, Glenbard West 1-Matt Iverson walked, stole second, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Grosrenavd in the 13th for Lyons (21-10, 11-8) in the West Suburban Silver.

– Niles North 7, Lake Forest 3-Rod Ruelas delivered a two-run single as Niles North (21-8, 11-7) scored five runs in the top of the seventh to overcome a 3-2 deficit in the North Suburban.

– Riverside-Brookfield 6, St. Joseph 0-Dan Howe threw a two-hitter and fanned nine and Frank Senese had a bases-loaded triple for R-B (20-5).

– Morton 7, Hinsdale South 6-Tim Piotrowski (single, double, three RBIs) drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh as Morton (18-17, 12-7) earned a share of second place in the West Suburban Gold.

– Crystal Lake Central 4, Jacobs 2-Brett Seeman (3-1) allowed three hits and two runs in the first inning, then threw shutout ball the rest of the way and Tim Smiejek had a two-run third-inning double for Central (15-11, 9-8 in the Fox Valley).

– Highland Park 3, Deerfield 1-Mark Carnow pitched a three-hitter and added an RBI double to cap a three-run fifth for Highland Park (10-17, 4-11) in the Central Suburban North.

– Waukegan 3, Glenbrook South 1-Mike Medel got the win in relief and drove in a run and Ricky Branaman had a run-scoring double as Waukegan (23-5, 12-2)

captured the Central Suburban North title outright.

– Dundee-Crown 11, Cary-Grove 2-Jessie Richardson (6-5) fired a four-hitter and struck out 10 to lift Dundee-Crown (13-10, 7-10) in the Fox Valley.

– Aurora Central Class A regional-Aurora Christian lost 5-1 to Hampshire

(19-9) when Ron Sieloff threw a two-hitter, struck out four and hit a two-run, fifth-inning double. Chris Reinink had three hits and two RBIs and Andy McNab two hits and an RBI for the winners.

– Driscoll Class A regional-Kevin Zaleski (10-0) struck out eight over four innings, Jude Booth had three hits and Brian Wojtun and John Mika (two triples, one RBI) had two hits apiece as Driscoll (30-5) blanked Holy Trinity 10-0 in five. . . . Winning pitcher Paul Graff (3-5) struck out nine and drilled a two-run homer as Montini (19-9) eliminated Luther North 8-2.

– Westmont Class A regional-Jason Jordan (7-4) scattered five hits and Phil Kuchler (two RBIs) and Mark Baetzel had two hits apiece as Westmont edged Illinois Math & Science 6-5. . . . Mike Slifko (3 for 3, home run, four RBIs) and Todd Dykstra (two hits, three RBIs) guided Illiana Christian (15-6) to a 14-6 win over Morgan Park Academy. . . . Chicago Christian (16-13) ousted Lisle 15-0 as winning pitcher Paul Powers went 2 for 3 with five RBIs. . . . Scott Elder drove in the winning run as Lemont (14-12) edged Evergreen Park 7-6 in 10 innings after scoring a run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh to forge a 6-6 tie.

– Prairie Central Class A regional-Dan Leasure was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and Jim Martis had two hits as Coal City (16-6) beat Cullom Tri-Point 11-4.

– Momence Class A regional-Jeff Ford scattered five hits and struck out nine and Jamie Day had three hits as Momence (19-12) advanced with a 6-4 win over Grant Park.

SOFTBALL

– Ridgewood Class A regional-Lisa Smith had two hits and four RBIs and Joanne Siedlecki had two triples and two RBIs as Driscoll ousted North Shore 17-6.

– Public League playoffs-Connie Leander (17-1) tossed a no-hitter and Tonya Johnson (4 for 4, two home runs, four RBIs), Jacki Meyer (3 for 4, two doubles, home run, three RBIs), Cindi Suomi (3 for 3, two RBIs) and Stacey Morro (3 for 3, two RBIs) led the offense as Taft (17-1) humbled Lake View 19-0 in five. . . . Winning pitcher Alice Yau (12-1, four-hitter) belted a three-run homer and Teresa Garcia had two hits as Young (15-4) beat Kelly 13-3 in five. . . . Mirna Martinez was 4 for 5 with five RBIs as Juarez (18-6)

hammered Crane 30-13 in five. . . . Aaronna McGee (4 for 4, three-run homer, four RBIs) led Carver (17-4) past Bowen 14-2 in five. . . . Bridget Ferguson

(4 for 5, three RBIs) doubled in the bottom of the seventh to score winning pitcher Matrese Hunter (17-1) with the winning run as Marshall (17-1) nudged Lincoln Park 13-12.

– Elk Grove 6, Barrington 1-Karen White (18-4) went the distance, scattering four hits, and Jackie Dennison and Krissy Smith had two hits apiece as Elk Grove (21-5, 15-2) captured the Mid-Suburban League championship in the completion of a game suspended Thursday because of rain. The host Grenadiers held a 3-0 lead over Barrington`s North Division winners when the game was halted in the second inning Thursday.

– Crystal Lake Central 10, Jacobs 0-Dianne Sweeney tossed a two-hitter and Michelle Georgi was 4 for 5 with two RBIs and Cari Schrupp added two hits as Central (21-4, 15-3) clinched the Fox Valley title.

– Cary-Grove 6, Dundee-Crown 2-Pam Scherschel and Megan DePuy had two hits apiece for Cary-Grove (17-10, 13-4 in the Fox Valley).

– Lyons Township 9, Glenbard West 1-Kristie Hoheisel (15-4, one-hitter, eight strikeouts) and Sheila Nelligan (two hits, two RBIs) powered Lyons (17-6, 10-2 in the West Suburban Silver).

– Deerfield 7, Highland Park 2-Suzanne Power (15-3) got the win to pace Deerfield`s CSL North champs (17-5, 10-0).

– New Trier 8, Glenbrook South 0-Tracy Fields and Cathrine Brown combined on a three-hitter as the Trevians (16-5, 7-1) wrapped up the Central Suburban South title. Melissa Siegel went 2 for 2 with three RBIs.

– Hinsdale Central 6, Nazareth 1-Kathryn Sjoholm hurled a no-hitter for Hinsdale (9-17) in non-conference play.

– Oak Park 14, Downers Grove North 2-Carrie Baltsen`s grand slam helped Oak Park (23-4, 12-0) wrap up its first West Suburban Silver championship since 1986. Gloria Iglesias and Cathy Morrisey each had two hits and two RBIs for Oak Park.

– Riverside-Brookfield 12, York 2-Becky Hull (17-0) tossed a four-hitter and helped her own cause with two triples, a double and five RBIs for No. 8 R-B

(22-2) in the non-conference contest.

SOCCER

– Stevenson 7, Fenton 0-Denise Butler had five saves en route to her 12th shutout and Megan Chance, Amy Zindell and Lisa Cholak had two goals apiece for Stevenson (13-5-1, 10-2-0) in the North Suburban.

– Libertyville 3, New Trier 0-Kim Marshall, Erin Murphy and Michele Montanya scored the goals and Caroline Cerbus recorded her 14th shutout for No. 1 Libertyville (16-1-1).
