Susie Hatton
Body and Soul (Giant) (STAR) 1/2
Few listeners will waste stamps to join the Susie Hatton fan club that`s listed in the liner notes. The sexy blond singer-who nabbed this debut courtesy of producer, paramour and Poison singer Bret Michaels-needs plenty of engineering to sound even this good, and her writing on ”Body and Soul”
wouldn`t move anyone`s body, much less their soul. Tunes like ”Feed My Fire” and ”The Hotter It Gets” could fill a teen-lust movie soundtrack, but they seem like gems compared with Hatton`s covers of the Stones` ”Brown Sugar” in which she changes the famous lyrics to ”How come you dance so good?”
