The McHenry Elementary District 15 School Board has deferred action on an agreement with two other area school districts that could resolve boundary problems in a 940-acre area between McHenry and Crystal Lake.
Currently, students attend grade school in one community and high school in another.
Under the proposed agreement, District 15 would gain 900 acres on its southern border, a portion of which includes a proposed 600-home subdivision expected to be annexed to McHenry.
The board deferred action on the agreement Tuesday in hopes of the city working out a favorable annexation agreement. Officials hope such an agreement would help District 15 accommodate the students expected to be generated by the proposed subdivision.
