The Name`s Jimmy, an impressive Arlington winner June 19, won his second career race Wednesday in a Calder allowance test.

The talented Illinois 2-year-old colt cruised to an easy five-length Florida victory. With jockey Juvenal Diaz again in the irons, The Name`s Jimmy won under wraps and paid $3.60 to win. The speedy Gordon Potter trainee is expected to start next in the $50,000-added Marigold Stakes July 21 at the south Florida track.

Unbridled works: Trainer Carl Nafzger sent his champion Unbridled to the track Wednesday for his first workout since he bled in the Pimlico Special May 11.

The 1990 Eclipse Award-winning 3-year-old colt breezed 4 furlongs in :49 2/5 and galloped out 5 furlongs in 1:02.

”It was a good work. It was a little faster than we anticipated, but that`s the way he is,” Nafzger said. ”This is Stage 1 in his comeback. We`ll see how he comes out of this work before we make plans for another workout or even seriously consider a race schedule.”

Day trip: Jockey Pat Day will travel to Texas Thursday to ride at Trinity Meadows in Willow Park to benefit the Racetrack Chaplaincy of Texas.

”Everyone`s optimistic that the racing in Texas could be real big in a few years,” Day said. ”We`re optimistic we can get the ministry started and possibly grow with the racing.”

Day, a board member for the Racetrack Chaplains of America, will ride in two races, including a match race between a thoroughbred and a quarterhorse.

Wanted-horse owners: The Illinois Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Foundation will host an ownership seminar Aug. 11 at Arlington.

The event will feature lectures on Internal Revenue Service requirements, racehorse conformation on pedigrees and the Illinois program. The $75 fee includes lunch in Arlington`s Million Room. For information, call Barbara Carroll at 708-253-3670.
