Stereo and video equipment, a vacuum cleaner and a telephone answering machine valued at a total of $2,910 were taken within the last two weeks from a home in the 100 block of South Channing Street, according to Elgin police. The burglary, reported to police Monday, apparently occurred after a window was broken.
