There`s nothing out of the ordinary in young pianist Benny Green`s new recording. It is simple, bluesy trio work, like early Ramsey Lewis or a dozen others. At 27 Green is paying homage to the tradition, which is fine. But at some point the purpose of the artist is to advance it.
