Georgia-Pacific fined: A federal judge Tuesday fined Georgia-Pacific Corp. $5 million for tax evasion. The company pleaded guilty to trying to take a $24 million tax deduction for a $2 million piece of Florida swampland that it donated to the state. Georgia-Pacific also must pay the Internal Revenue Service $16 million in back taxes and penalties. ”Again, I apologize for any embarrassment this causes our employees, shareholders and customers,”
