Anthony Zuccaro, 21, of Roselle died instantly from head injuries after he was thrown out of the passenger seat of a car when it hit a tree on Thorndale Road Nov. 21, according to testimony Tuesday at a Du Page coroner`s inquest.

The driver of the car, Scott Mackey, 21, of Bloomingdale, has been charged with reckless homicide and drunken driving in connection with the accident. Sheriff`s deputies say he was driving more than 70 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone when the car left the roadway and hit a tree.

Sheriff`s Deputy Frank Bara said Tuesday that after the accident, Mackey, who received minor injuries, denied ”at least 10 times” that he had a passenger in the car. Zuccaro`s body was found about 100 feet away from the wreckage about four hours later.
