The 1991 winners of the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards were announced recently.
Ralph Lauren won the lifetime achievement award for his all-American fashions. Isaac Mizrahi was named women`s wear designer of the year. The late Roger Forsythe of Perry Ellis was named the men`s designer of the year.
Todd Oldham won the Perry Ellis Award for exciting new fashion talent. Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel was named accessories designer of the year.
Harley-Davidson was given a special award for bringing motorcycle leather jackets and bike accessories into the mainstream. The CFDA will celebrate the awards at a gala in New York on Feb. 3.
