More than a million women have had breast reconstructions. Of these, 97 1/2 percent thank God for their restoration to self-respect and female pride. Less than 2 1/2 percent have noticed poor results, which do not include any deaths, and mostly report superficial scarring or undue firmness of fat tissue.
But the male-dominated Food and Drug Administration now contemplates depriving millions of women of their ardent desire for the normal female figure, because of an insignificant minority`s experience with statistically insignificant deficiencies.
This is the same male-dominated FDA that deprives American women of RU-486, the French product that alleviates or prevents ovarian and breast cancer as well as providing safe, early abortion without surgery.
The male-dominated U.S. Supreme Court may deprive women of their constitutional right to choose abortion instead of a problem pregnancy, leaving women to the tender mercy of the male-dominated U.S. Congress and 50 male-dominated state legislatures.
When will women decide that women, not men, should govern female choices and conduct?
