Algonquin rush-hour traffic will be permanently restricted through the LaFox River Drive neighborhood.
The Village Board recently voted to keep two signs prohibiting right turns, approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation, on Illinois Highway 31 at La Fox River Drive and Division Street.
Before the traffic restrictions, motorists used the roads as a shortcut through the residential area to avoid milelong backups at Illinois Highways 31 and 62.
