Barbara Brotman`s selfish and horrifyingly cruel commentary on the

”beauty and warmth” of fur was one of the most out of date, narcissistic justifications for wearing dead animals I have ever read (Tempo, Jan. 20). Ms. Brotman claims she feels guilty about killing animals in order to keep warm and eat well, yet her defiant tone and truly politically incorrect remarks negate her twisted apology for using and consuming dead animals.

It seems to me as though Ms. Brotman is really more concerned with looking ”more attractive at the office” than with keeping warm. Humane living must not carry with it the price tag or social status as do 50 dead animals.

If Ms. Brotman and her friends wish to parade their Neanderthal pride around town, they can be rest assured there will be many human voices speaking up for the animals they chose to slaughter.
