It seems likely that the efficiency of the mayor`s proposed recycling program will be even lower than you predicted in your ”Bag the blue-bag”

editorial (Feb. 3).

Last fall, when the city`s yard-waste program was reviewed, the Tribune reported that a large percentage of the bags containing the compostable material were ending up in the city`s landfills.

The proposed blue bags would be collected and transported in the same way as their brown cousins. Why should we expect them to fare differently?
