Robert W. Matthews Sr., 79, a lifelong resident of the North Center neighborhood and an employee for 48 years of Henry C. Lytton clothing stores, died Tuesday in his home. He was wounded during World War II, and received a Purple Heart. Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen; two sons, Robert Jr. and John; two daughters, Kathleen Halper and Margaret Mary Galus; 11 grandchildren; and a brother. Mass for Mr. Matthews will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2215 W. Irving Park Rd.
