Edith C. Sims, 79, who operated several Chicago area bowling alleys with her family, died Monday at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights. Mrs. Sims and her husband, Stanley, ran the 20th Century Lanes in Chicago from 1954 to 1964, when they moved the family business to Richton Lanes, Richton Park. The Sims bought Fox Bowl in Downers Grove in 1981. She is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Villari, Natalie Sims, Rosemary Swafford and Kathi Turano; three sons, William Sims, Tom Sims and Bob Fanning; three sisters; one brother; and 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Panozzo Brothers Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St., Chicago Heights. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Kieran Church, 724 W. 195th St., Chicago Heights.
