As expected, Loyola guard Peter Patton signed a letter of intent Wednesday to attend De Paul beginning next season. The 6-foot-1-inch Patton had committed to the Blue Demons two weeks ago.
Also Wednesday, Weber guard Jevon Hobbs signed with Illinois-Chicago, while Bradley landed 6-6 foward Dwayne Funches of Orr.
Southern Illinois which finished 22-8 last season and was the co-champion of the Missouri Valley Conference signed guard Jo Jo Johnson from Benton
(Ill.) High School, and Chris Dean Carr, a forward from Arcadia Valley High School in Ironton, Mo.
The 6-3 Johnson averaged 29.7 points and 10 rebounds as a senior, finishing his high school career as Benton`s all-time leading scorer with 2,575 total points. The 6-4 Carr averaged 20.6 points and 11.6 rebounds.
Michael King, a 6-7 forward out of Homewood-Flossmoor, and Brian Smith, a 6-8 center from Granite City, signed with Valparaiso. New Trier`s Tim Payne, who averaged 18.3 points, committed to Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass.
