The University of Michigan Medical Center, among 33 medical centers taking part in a study sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, is seeking ovarian cancer patients to be treated with taxol, a substance derived from yew trees. Dr. James A. Roberts in Ann Arbor says researchers eventually want to see whether using taxol with a standard chemotherapy treatment can increase the drugs` effectiveness.
