A Lake County Electoral Board hearing on a challenge to Dr. James Brophy, a Democratic candidate for coroner, has been continued until Friday.
County Republicans contend that Brophy cannot run as a Democrat because he is a Republican precinct committeeman in Ingleside.
Brophy, a dentist in Waukegan, told the board last week that he doesn`t think he did anything illegal in filing for office as a Democrat.
The hearing was continued because Brophy`s attorney was unable to be present.
