Buying a stake: Digital Equipment Corp. will pay about $322 million for nearly 10 percent of Olivetti Spa., the Italian information technology company, officials said Friday. Digital, based in Maynard, Mass., is a leading U.S. computer maker. It will buy the Olivetti stake in stages through June 1994. Olivetti produces personal computers for Digital and has a number of joint research projects with the U.S. company.
