For (at least) the second time in recent days one of your reporters has misused the term ”etch” when referring to vandals scratching windows of CTA vehicles. A June 23 article refers to ”vandals scratching windows with etching tools.” I have seen the results of vandals scratching windows of CTA vehicles, but it`s not likely they are using etching tools. Indeed, if they are ”scratching” they aren`t etching: etching uses acids.
