As a father of two small children, and married to a full-time working mother, I am offended by Marian Henriquez Neudel`s insensitive column toward fathers (Op-Ed, June 19).
Amazingly, this woman chose to use Father`s Day to point out all of society`s problems that are caused by fathers. From what I gather, Ms. Neudel doesn`t have any children of her own. Just because her ”own father was one of the best people” she has ever known and ”many of (her) friends are good fathers” does not make her an expert on raising children and developing successful families.
Until you have to hold a job, provide loving support for a working spouse (including caring for the children while the spouse is traveling on business) and help provide a strong and stable home for your children, you will never understand what fathers must deal with.
