Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
It was refreshing to read your sensible editorial about doctor-assisted suicide. You have expressed my feelings so clearly.
I am 67 years old, in very good health and hope to continue for many years. However, I am very apprehensive about Alzheimer`s disease or an accident that would leave me physically and/or mentally unable to have a physician-assisted release from a vegetative existence. I use the word
”release” as opposed to ”suicide,” the connotation of which is so offensive.
I think we are ready for an organized movement to assure our wishes of release from terminal illness and incurable disease before we become incapable.
