Researchers at the University of Chicago Medical Center have succeeded in growing HPV, the human papilloma virus-cause of genital warts and linked to carcinoma of the cervix-in cultured tissue for the first time. Scientists will be able to obtain sufficient quantities of the virus to speed development of an antiviral therapy or vaccine.
