A family returning from a vacation told police Tuesday that silver utensils worth about $5,000 were stolen from their home in the 2000 block of Tweed Drive. After noticing mud stains on carpeting inside the home, family members told authorities they discovered a side door had been pried open. Among items reported missing were two antique silver trays and several 12-piece silver place settings, police said.
