The first kicks off with eight of the 11 tracks from her Atlantic debut, ”I Never Loved a Man The Way I Love You,” the 1967 masterpiece that began her redefinition of soul, and subsequent tracks confirm that she maintained that high standard for at least another five years. The only quibble is that ”Queen of Soul” shortchanges her ground-breaking
”Amazing Grace” gospel album by including only one cut.
