Acquisition: John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. said Monday it signed a letter of intent to acquire Crane Walnut Orchards, a California walnut-shelling and processing facility, for about $3.2 million. Elk Grove Village-based Sanfilippo said the acquisition is expected to be completed by about April 15. Crane produces about four million pounds of net walnut meat, most of which is exported.
