A 13-year-old boy was shot to death on a South Side street Sunday night, police said.

James Nance of the 5000 block of South Elizabeth Street was standing near his home when a man got out of a car at about 9:30 p.m., walked up to the boy, and shot him several times, said Wentworth Area Detective John Segers and a Cook County Hospital administrator.

Police were working to establish a motive, Segers said.
