Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
In reference to “An empty victory for Zion’s city seal” (Editorial, Feb. 20): Surely it was “irksome” for Zion’s citizens to have outsiders try and force the removal of all references to God from their city’s seal. Why then should the Tribune characterize Zion’s victory as empty? Who among us would not greatly prefer to have our antagonists “miffed” rather than smug?
Also, if the folks at Zion “still yearn for the old seal,” then I’ll wager my Tribune subscription against yesterday’s Daily Herald that they would be totally incensed if the City Council had not made every effort (including the $100,000 litigation cost) to preserve the old seal.
