Rev. Edgar Eberle, 94, a Franciscan priest and former teacher, died Wednesday in St. Mary’s Home for the Aged in Manitowoc, Wis. Father Eberle was a priest for 68 years. Father Eberle, who taught the classics for 56 years, served as rector of his province’s minor seminary in Westmont from 1951 to 1954 and from 1957 to 1963. He also taught in a high school in Cleveland and at the Franciscan College in Quincy. He had three deceased brothers who were also priests, but no immediate survivors. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Hennessy-Bruno Funeral Home, 5903 Burr Oak Ave., Berkeley. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Domitilla Catholic Church, 4900 Washington St., Hillside.
