Early-morning trash pickups at some commercial properties in Hoffman Estates may have to start later in the day under a proposal being considered by the village’s Judiciary Committee.
Trash collection at homes in Hoffman Estates begins at 7 a.m. weekdays, but there is no established starting time set for collections at commercial properties. The committee this week recommended that no refuse collections be permitted before 7 a.m. at commercial properties located near residences.
In some instances, refuse haulers begin servicing their commercial routes at 4 a.m.
