End of flights: Southwest Airlines said Thursday it is ending five years of operations at Detroit City Airport because promised runway improvements weren’t being made, officials said. Southwest will leave Detroit City Airport as of Sept. 15. Southwest handles about 90 percent of the 700,000 passengers who use the airport annually.
