Mendez Jorge Gomez, 26, of 16627 Jean Lane was charged Wednesday with violating an order of protection after he allegedly tried to contact his wife. Gomez reportedly knocked on the window of the woman’s apartment in the 17200 block of South 71st Court shortly before 2 a.m., authorities said. Police said Gomez was wanted on an outstanding warrant for battery.
