Esther Howland Petersen, a resident of Wheaton for more than 50 years and a former Chicago public school teacher, died Tuesday in West Suburban Hospital Medical Center, Oak Park. Mrs. Petersen taught for many years at Anderson and Howe Schools in Chicago. She also taught at St. Mark School in Wheaton. She is survived by three sisters, Gertrude Murphy, Kathleen McGinnis and Martha McBride. Services for Mrs. Petersen were held Saturday in Wheaton.
