Again this year I was disappointed in the award-winning “poetry” by schoolchildren. Who changed the definition of poetry from “a series of well-crafted phrases that have meter and rhyme”-where the author has obviously worked at choosing the right words-to a collection of sentences, indented at strategic points in an attempt to imitate poetic form?
