Police on Sunday afternoon said they evacuated more than 200 people from the Knollwood Apartments, 222 Locust St., after a pipe bomb was found in the parking lot. The 12-inch pipe was wrapped with black electrical tape and had a shotgun shell secured to either end, police said. The Kane County Bomb Disposal Unit took the device for detonation, police said.
