GRIEVOUS ERRORS

In his letter “FBI qualifiers” (Aug. 30), David J. Mueller comments on his struggle as a white male to become an employee of the FBI.

He strengthens his argument with this thought, “But to accomplish this task at the cost of rejecting qualified applicants on the basis of skin color or gender is to make a grievous error.”

Absolutely, Mr. Mueller. I really think you’ve got it. Every woman in America, no matter what the color of her skin, has been making that statement and battling for job equality for 200 years.

I hope Mr. Mueller gets his job. I wish him luck.
