Game of the week: Miami beating Colorado 35-29. This game had everything from a massive brawl to a near miracle finish by Colorado. It never is dull with the Hurricanes around.
Upset of the week: UCLA’s 28-25 victory over Stanford. Bruin coach Terry Donahue needed a big win.
Flop of the week: Make it a near flop. Syracuse beat Cincinnati 24-21, but they needed 18 fourth quarter points to pull out the win at home. After a tie at Texas and now this game, the Orangemen’s national title hopes are dim.
Quote of the week: Miami coach Dennis Erickson on the fight: “It’s a crime. Nobody likes it. . . . It was such a great game. It’s too bad that marred it.”
