Record sales pace: With a week to go in the current model year, Chrysler Corp. said it topped 500,000 mini-van sales in the U.S. market for the first time, establishing a new model-year record. Chrysler said it will surpass the previous record of 443,790 units, set in the 1992 model year, by more than 70,000 units, or 16 percent. Chrysler said it continues to hold nearly 50 percent of the mini-van segment.
