An Oak Forest woman allegedly struck a police officer in the arm three times on Monday during her arrest in connection with an accident at Illinois Highway 83 and Southwest Highway. Christine Pellegrini-Frain, 39, of 14700 S. Central Rd., was charged with battery, driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to give aid or information and improper lane usage.

– A Tinley Park man was released on bond Saturday after being charged with driving under the influence, police said. Kenneth J. Giunta, 45, of 7748 W. 167th St., also was charged with illegal transportation of liquor, police said. The suspect was taken to Palos Community Hospital after falling during a field sobriety test, police said.

– An Oak Forest man was released on bond after allegedly driving into a fire hydrant at 12500 S. Harlem Ave. on Sunday, police said. Christopher S. Medvesky, 20, of 15710 S. Lake Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. The suspect said an overdose of medication may have been the cause of his loss of consciousness before the accident.
