Former world middleweight champion Marvin Hagler was hospitalized Monday complaining of stomach pain, his agent said.

Agent Peter DeVeber said Hagler’s doctor told him Hagler would be kept overnight at a hospital for tests. Hospital officials declined to release more information.

Hagler was seen being taken into the hospital on a stretcher.

DeVeber, reached at Stoughton, Mass., said he spoke to Hagler. “He sounded fine,” DeVeber said. “He didn’t think it was an emergency.”

Hagler, 39, who has been pursuing an acting career since retiring from professional boxing in 1987, lives in Milan.
