A 37-year-old Aurora man was charged with reckless and disorderly conduct, accused of dragging a woman down her street with his vehicle as she tried to escape being abducted, said Kane County sheriff’s officers. Robert J. Payne of 524 Hartford Ave. was arrested at his residence Tuesday afternoon. The accuser, a 32-year-old resident of the 1100 block of Pleasant Place, told deputies Payne tried to drive away with her as an unwilling passenger. She said she tried to escape and was dragged. Payne was released after posting $175 bond. He was scheduled to appear Dec. 8 in Kane County Circuit Court.
