A tavern bouncer was arrested early Saturday and charged with striking a patron with a lead pipe in the parking lot of the Hill Top Pub, 216 W. Lawrence Ave., police said. Christopher Adams, 24, of 257 Villa St., Elgin, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of battery, police said. A fight inside the bar allegedly involving Adams, the 31-year-old victim and others spilled outside, where the victim was struck and kicked several times, police said. During the fight, Adams allegedly hit the victim on the head with the rusty 3 1/2-foot pipe and punched another man, police said. The victim was in good condition Monday at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, police said.
