– A 25-year-old Aurora man was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly holding police at bay with a 12-gauge shotgun for nearly six hours. Lorenzo Martinez, also known as Lorenzo Avita, 1547 Superior St., was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and unlawful possession of a firearm. Martinez was drinking beer in his home with a friend when he became angry, told the friend to leave and brandished the shotgun, according to police reports. The friend called police. When they arrived, Martinez allegedly kept them away from the house with the shotgun until he surrendered, police said. He was released on bond.
