Three new books, all sized for stocking stuffing, offer delights for chocolate lovers.

Chantal Coady, proprietor of Rococo, one of London’s finest chocolate shops, has penned “Chocolate: The Food of the Gods” (Chronicle Books, $14.95) in which she traces the history of chocolate.

Two veteran Chicago-area cookbook authors, Barbara Grunes and Phyllis Magida, bring us 36 timeless recipes in “Chocolate Classics” (Contemporary Books, $9.95).

“Chocolate Cakes” by Kathy Farrell-Kingsley (Hyperion, $9.95) offers 19 tempting creations.
