Erica refused when Jack and Livia wanted her to plead temporary insanity to the charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault against Dimitri. Gloria threatened to have Adam fire Alec, who sent her gifts. Adam asked Hayley to check out Alec’s past. Derek got Mimi to the hospital when she went into labor. Despite Taylor’s attempt to keep Lucas away, he helped Mimi deliver her baby. Edmund ask Brooke if they have a future.
Another World: Carl found Rachel in the hospital after she had been hit on the head by a mugger. Carl took Rachel to his New York City hotel suite, and later took her on a literary tour of the city. On New Year’s Eve, Carl romanced Rachel and they shared a midnight kiss. Rachel worried that the knock on her head is causing her vision problems. Lorna fumed when the district attorney dropped the rape charges against Kyle for lack of evidence. John and Kelsey were suspended from the hospital for treating Paulina’s tropical illness with an untested drug developed by Ian’s father.
As the World Turns: Tom refused when Lisa wanted him to help her track down his brother, Scott. Lisa later asked Eduardo to help her find Scott. Evan was furious with Connor for telling Margo everything she knew about the night Linc was murdered. After finding a torn check with bloody fingerprints on it in Connor’s car, Margo arrested Connor on charges she killed Linc. Evan admitted to Rosanna that he destroyed Linc’s audio tape on which Connor, Cal and Mary had threatened Linc. Larry told Emily that a sonogram showed Susan’s baby is a girl. Janice obtained a vial containing a drug from a former beau, and plans to use the drug on Kim because she has rejected all of Janice’s programming ideas for WOAK-TV.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Taylor realized that James’ mother, Mary, died in childbirth. Taylor explained to James that he made up a fantasy mother when he was a child in order to endure the abuse he suffered from his father. Taylor convinced James to confront Damon, who said James killed Mary even though she chose to die in order to give James life. Connor told Brooke to leave his home after she accused Karen of helping Sally crash the charity fashion show. After Connor chose to be with Karen, Brooke cried on Ridge’s shoulder that Connor dumped her. Thorne told Macy that he wants a separation.
Days of Our Lives: Jennifer is unaware that Laura has been spitting out all the pills she has given her since she brought Laura home for the holidays. Posing as a Pine Haven secretary, Vivian panicked when Jennifer said Laura seemed on the verge of talking. Disguised as a man, Vivian sneaked out of Pine Haven and kept tabs on Laura during the Horton’s New Year’s Eve party. Vivian was relieved when Laura was introduced to Kate, but showed no sign of recognizing her. John was forced to tell Roman and Marlena that Sami had kidnapped Isabella. Jonah helped Lexie study for her med school entrance exam.
General Hospital: To get Jagger off the hook, A.J. lied to Sean that he found a gym locker key he thought was his, then must have dropped it at the ELQ site where Ray’s body was found. A.J. also lied he learned the key was Jagger’s when he became the No. 1 suspect in Ray’s murder. A.J. lied that he found his own locker key in his car. Damian was nice to Lucy, who realized he just wants her to vote her ELQ stock with him and Ned. Ned went back to Buffalo after Lois phoned and said she got him a gig for New Year’s Eve. Ned and Lois, who knows him as “Eddie,” made love. Luke met one of Frank Smith’s henchmen, who came into the country illegally. Later, Luke was involved in an altercation on the docks that ended in bloodshed. While trying to settle into their new home, Laura sensed that her family is in grave danger.
Guiding Light: Holly took care of Roger, who said he wants everyone to think he is dead so he can find out who shot him. At Holly’s request, Ed doctored a feverish Roger, who later sneaked out of the house because he feared Ed would tell the police about him. While trapped in the Towers during a snowstorm, Blake accepted Ross’ marriage proposal. When Blake went to tell Holly about her engagement, she was stunned but glad to see Roger. Detective Cutter arrested Alexandra on charges that she shot Roger even though no body has been found. When Fletcher bailed her out of jail, Alexandra confessed her feelings for Roger. Josh broke up with Tangie after arguing over the lies she has told him. The thug, Ray, broke into the lighthouse looking for the money Tangie brought to Springfield.
Loving: Ally moved back in with Kate after having second thoughts about marrying Cooper. Tess offered to be Dante’s prisoner if he would free Dinah Lee. While Tess kept Dante busy, the police rushed into the cave just as Dante was trying to commit suicide. Dante was hospitalized in a coma and put on a life support system. Gwyn told Clay that she was moving out of the Alden mansion and rejected his suggestion they renew their old relationship.
One Life to Live: Nora panicked when Todd broke into the beach house and stalked her with a knife. When Bo showed up, Todd forced Nora to get rid of him, but he returned after he realized that Nora tried to tell him Todd was in the house. Nora stabbed Todd in the chest with a pair of scissors. Bo arrived and rescued Nora from Todd, who tried to strangle Bo. Bo later captured Todd and left him tied up while he and Nora went for help, but when they returned, Todd was gone. After finding an abandoned baby on Christmas Eve, Cassie ran off with the child when Andrew wanted to notify the police. Cassie went to Dorian, who pulled strings so Cassie could keep the baby for 48 hours. Jason prevented a woman, Beth, from jumping into the river. Beth admitted that she abandoned her baby because her boyfriend dumped her and her parents threw her out.
The Young and the Restless: Victoria and Cole eloped and were married in a chapel in Las Vegas. At Cole’s insistence, Victoria phoned Nikki and told her she and Cole got married. Nikki, who was hoping to renew her former romance with Cole, was stunned by the news, but agreed to let Victoria and Cole tell Victor about their marriage. Later, Cole and Victoria started to make love. Cliff let Hope go when he realized she loves Victor. Victor told Nikki that he is getting on with his life, and it includes Hope. Brad and Lauren spent New Year’s Eve together. Cricket told Rex that Danny didn’t let her spend the holidays with him, and admitted she thinks Danny is seeing another woman. Paul told Lynne he has feelings for Cricket.
