I work as a camerawoman/editor for Fox News Chicago. Recently I was assigned to cover the “Mothers Against Drunk Driving” Candlelight Memorial Service at the Hyatt Hotel. I’ve worked in the news business here in Chicago for the last 15 years covering many tragic news stories. Nothing has stirred my emotions as much as covering this event.
I sat there and listened for an hour to 63 horrible stories from survivors and family members. This event should be a traveling road show to remind us all of the cruel consequences of drinking and driving. It’s not glamourous; it’s stories of families picking up their shattered lives.
