Favorite performer: Laurence Olivier. I saw his “Hamlet,” and I was blown away.
Favorite childhood memory: When I was 10, my mother asked if I wanted to take acting lessons. I had decided I wanted to be an actress when I was 5.
Prized possession: My teddy bear, Squeaky. I’ve had it since I was 2, and I keep him by my bed.
Personal heroes: My parents. They’re very honest, reliable people, and that’s important for a child.
If I could do it over, I: Would have had more children.
I’d give anything to meet: Meryl Streep. She’s the best actress of her generation, and I’d like to do a scene with her.
My fantasy is: I’m on the beach with my little boys and they’re flying kites and my husband is sunbathing beside me and I’m looking out at the sea and I’m completely happy.
The worst advice my mother ever gave me: “Have your children while you’re young.” I wasn’t mature enough and wasn’t ready. I was a child myself until about five minutes ago.
If I could change one thing about myself: It would be my nose, but I would never have it fixed. I think you’re born with the face you should have, I just wish I was born with my mother’s nose.
Behind my back, my friends say: “She’s such a perfectionist.”
