Alice Murphy Tapling, 37, of Elmhurst died Sunday in University of Chicago Hospital after a long illness. A graduate of Trinity High School in River Forest and St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind., Mrs. Tapling is survived by her husband, George; a daughter, Colleen; two sons, George IV and Robert; her parents, Alice and Kevin Murphy; three sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Rd., Elmhurst. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Visitation Catholic Church, York and Madison Roads, Elmhurst.
