One woman was charged with disorderly conduct and another with obstructing justice following two arrests outside a Geneva Township tavern, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies were called to the 33W400 block of Illinois Highway 38 at about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday to break up a fight between a man and two women that began when the man allegedly took the keys to one of the women’s vehicles and threw them into a snow-covered field, the sheriff’s office said. No one wanted to sign complaints against anyone but deputies eventually arrested the vehicle’s owner, Jacquelyn D. Porter, 24, of 5807 Oakwood Dr., Apt. C, in Lisle, on a charge of disorderly conduct when she allegedly refused to accept a cab ride home and demanded to sleep in the tavern’s parking lot. Porter’s friend and passenger, Jenifer A. Polk, 20, of 326 Illinois St., Joliet, was arrested for obstructing justice after deputies learned she had given them a false name. Polk also was wanted on a warrant issued by Naperville police charging her with deceptive practices, authorities said. Porter posted $100 bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear Feb. 9 in Kane County Circuit Court. Polk was released after posting $500 bond for the misdemeanor charge and the warrant. She is scheduled to appear Jan. 28.
